Elegant Crosswinds Golf & Country Wedding | Katie + Morgan
Katie and Morgan first met in grade 7 in 2007 and began dating in grade 12 in 2012. They were coming up on nine years together when Morgan proposed while they were living in Birmingham, England. They took a drive to their favourite pub in Shropshire called the "Swann Inn," and before they went inside for dinner, they stopped at the side of the road to take pictures of the beautiful English countryside. When Katie turned around after taking photos, she found Morgan on one knee!
I met up with Katie and Morgan for their engagement session at the stunning Elora Gorge in the fall of 2021 before their wedding. I knew then that I absolutely adored these two individuals! They are quite possibly the sweetest and most thoughtful humans I’ve ever met, and I knew their wedding day was going to be so magical.
Despite pandemic challenges, they rescheduled their venue twice to ensure their dream wedding. Finally, on a beautiful July day, their wedding was able to happen at the lovely Crosswinds Golf & Country in Burlington, ON.
These two absolutely loved their colour palette and were able to agree on it instantly - which made planning and picking out decorations so easy for them. And I knew as soon as Katie told me their colours it was going to be a dream to photograph.
Their wedding day was filled with love and laughter, heartfelt vows and such a joyous celebration. One particular highlight of their speeches for the couple was when Morgan was talking about Katie's dad, and he said, "Pete, I truly admire all the things you are able to do with your hands", thinking of the times that Katie's dad taught him how to change his car oil, tires, replace ceiling tiles, and build a fence. But as soon as Morgan said it, the room started to giggle as people realized the double entendre, and that turned into a full room of laughter. Katie's dad raised his hands and shook them proudly. Definitely one of the highlights of the speeches.
Katie and Morgan's love, backed by the unwavering support of their loved ones, is truly inspiring. As they begin this new journey together, I hope their bond continues to grow stronger. Katie and Morgan, thank you for letting me document your love on this truly special day. Here's to a lifetime filled with happiness, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
